Dear Parents,
Welcome to Southside Early Childhood Center! We are looking forward to a very exciting and successful year. We are glad to have you as a part of our Southside family. We invite you to be involved in your child’s education because it takes all of us working together to help our boys and girls achieve excellence.
In order for us to reach the goals we have set, we need for you to have your child here everyday on time. School hours are as follows:
We will allow students in the building at 7:00 am. Our school’s instructional day will begin at 7:30 a.m. The tardy bell rings at 7:35 a.m. If your child arrives at school after the tardy bell rings at 7:35 you will need to come to sign your child in. School will dismiss at 1:30 for bus students.
For afternoon pick-up , all cars will line up on Southside Drive, the road across the street facing the school and proceed to the right or left onto the school campus depending on the color of the car tag that was given to you during registration. We will have two loading areas. We will have staff to assist in these areas.
Special Needs students will have a white car tag, they will turn into the front entrance of the school at 1:20 for car rider dismissal.
Area #1- (5k students) Orange car tag will turn RIGHT off Southside Drive and proceed to the school parking lot near the ball field. Once you enter the school’s parking lot, you will form two lines of traffic that will feed into one line so that your child may be safely loaded into your car. Dismissal at 1:40 for car riders
Area #2- (4k students) Blue Car tag will turn LEFT off Southside Drive and enter the driveway in the front of the school. Dismissal will be at 1:30 for car riders.
The crossing guard will direct you when to proceed to the parking lot.
Cars are not allowed to come onto the parking lot until all buses are gone.
You or the designated person to pick up your child must have a school issued car rider tag. If you do not, you will be asked to pull out of the car line and go into the office with your identification. If the person’s name is not on the sign out list they will not receive your child. There will be no exception to this procedure.
The first few days will be hectic, so I am asking for your patience as we deal with the traffic back ups. It will get better as we learn the cars. All car riders should have a school issued name card in the window of the car as you approach the pick up point.
Thank you,
Ms. Patricia Toney , Principal
